World Heart Day!
You know, in all poems and songs, when they are about love, usually somebody breaks someone’s heart.
The text of one of Madonna songs is saying “Be careful with my heart you could break it.”
But usually in life nobody breaks our hearts.
In fact we do it all by ourselves, based on our:
- decisions;
- choices;
- habits;
- and lifestyle.
And this is valid both literally and figuratively.
Why I raise the question about “the heart” on this Sunday evening?
Because today is the World Heart Day!
And the cardiovascular disease is the world’s biggest killer, responsible for more than 20.5 million deaths every year, which makes 33% of all deaths.
World Heart Day reminds people to take care of their hearts by adopting healthy lifestyles.
For this health problem the key word is “prevention”, because it’s preventable with the right changes in the lifestyle:
- eating a balanced diet;
- regular physical activity;
- no smoking;
- limiting alcohol consumption.
And the right education approach is a must for this successful prevention.
“Make choices today that your heart will thank you for tomorrow.”
Having in mind this, the World Heart Federation is organizing global petition to prioritize the heart health. You can sign the petition on the site of the WHF.
The communication campaigns, which I’ll present you today, have two main goals:
- raising awareness how important is the prevention for this health problem;
- educating for the right habits on the path of prevention.
And here are the key visuals of different campaigns for World Heart Day during the years.
Enjoy!
