Authenticity

Real origins

People are surrounded by so many delusions, myths and legends that sometimes they just except them as a truth because its the easiest way to proceed further.

You know this saying about preferring to be happy instead of being right. This is how the myths and delusions start to exist.

Talking about myths, the communication campaign today is presenting the real origins of food and crushing the myths about it.

CDA Appliances (Nottingham, UK) discovers the “authenticity” of some of the most popular worldwide foods with the respective key messages on the visuals:

  • Ice cream – “Ice cream is thought to have been accidentally created by Mongolian horsemen carrying cream and galloping over frozen plains.”
  • Doughnut – “Doh! Synonymous with the US and New York in particular, Homer’s favourite treat actually hails from Greece. As did Homer…”
  • Croissant – “Almost an iconic symbol of France, the beloved croissant actually originates from Vienna in Austria.”

And here are the key visuals.

Enjoy!
