I totally support the idea that “less is more”.

Especially nowadays it’s so actual, as most of the people think that talking more, makes you more important, not realizing that in fact more is not good – it’s just more.

As Frank Lucas said: “The loudest one in the room is the weakest one in the room.”

On the other side, to know what exactly to say, when to say it and to whom to address it, it’s a science, which proves that “less is more”.

And this science takes experience, skills, knowledge and right attitude, in order to apply it successfully in the practice.

Today I’ll present you 3 communication campaigns of IKEA, which say more with less.

The diamonds in this campaign are the key messages.

The key messages consist wordplay, presenting IKEA as the right tool for connecting people with the better everyday life, making it more comfortable for them.

Main messages:

  • Study likea boss.
  • Sleep likea baby.
  • Comfy likea cloud.
  • Chill likea VIP.

2. IKEA UK reactive campaign idea

For this campaign it all started with Doja Cat, who appeared at the Met Gala, wearing a towel.

And what did IKEA?

Only within a few hours IKEA UK created on Instagram advertising, addressing “DOJA” towel dress.

3. IKEA campaign “Fresh at IKEA”

And the third IKEA campaign today is related with the summer and the new summer collection, which was launched at IKEA Portugal.

And what is the most refreshing first association with the summer?

Of course, the ice cream.
